Yesterday, 10 October was World Mental Health Day 2019. The focus this year is on suicide prevention. According to WHO, close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year worldwide. What are the mental health issues facing the average Singaporean? The latest Singapore Mental Health Study found that about 14% of Singaporeans have experienced a mood, anxiety or alcohol-use disorder in their lifetime. What can employers do to encourage positive mental health among workers here?
